"I used a 2B and 3B pencil. The 2B was slightly sharper, the 3B was softer and easier smudged. 2B is better for sharp, clear drawing while 3B is for softer smudged shades/tones"
The top is ink and the bottom is pen. It is a cross hatching pattern
The top is ink and the bottom is pen. It is a series of decreasing dots
The top is ink and the bottom is pen. It is random scribbles, the pen was blurred with water as suggested.
"I used a fine point pen and a stick and ink.
The pen was sharp and accurate.
The in was strong and hard to control."
Strips of masking tape gone over in coffee
"Materials:
Coffee
Masking tape
I stuck down some masking tape and applied a thin, watered down, layer of coffee which gave it an aged look as well as gathering at the edges of the tape."
The water colour collected at the ridges, but i think i got the water/paint balance a little bit wrong.
"materials:
Tissue paper
Water colour paint
Glue
I glued down some tissue paper and applied water colours, which congregated at the creases."
I think this made a decent effect, although i don't think i put enough paint on the bubble wrap
Materials:
Bubble wrap
Sponge
Acrylic Paint
"I applied acrylic paint to the bubble wrap and printed it onto the paper, then did the same with the sponge"
I tried to create a layered effect but it didn't go quite right
Materials:
newspaper
glue
acrylic paint
"I stuck down the news paper and made some layers with acrylic*" (corrected from accidental repetition of the word newspaper)
This worked pretty well exept for the gap in the middle.
"materials:roller
acrylic paint
I applied acrylic to the roller and made some different coloured layers."
This one was ok, but the gaps in the tissue paper bugs me.
"materials:
Tissue paper
Bleach
Glue
I stuck down the tissue paper and applied some streaks of bleach, which pulled the colour out."
I don't think i watered down the coffee quite enough
"Materials:
coffee
oil pastel
"I made some lines with the pastel and went over them with coffee"
I made a sandy looking texture with some paint
This is the image I intended to replicate
This is the resulting attempt at replicating the image (using a collage of different textures from earlier)
This is a second image I intended to replicate.
